Building Lives - Our Courses

Our training programme consists of:

STAGE ONE: TASTER COURSE
An introduction to plumbing, painting and decorating, and site levelling; with the chance to gain 2 credits for site levelling.
Course duration: 1 week (5 days)

STAGE TWO: CITY AND GUILDS 6218 BASIC CONSTRUCTION SKILLS
Certified NVQ level 1 course which includes further development of trade skills and training towards the health and safety CSCS test:
• Introduction and development of painting and decorating
• Introduction and development of carpentry skills
• Introduction and development of plumbing skills
• Introduction and development of tiling skills
Course duration: 2 days per week for 10 weeks

STAGE THREE: LEVEL 2 FRAMEWORK MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS APPRENTICESHIP
Certified NVQ level 2 course which includes further development of level 1 skills plus basic skills in plastering, guttering, brickwork and glazing. You will gain an NVQ level 1 in literacy and numeracy. Stage three also includes paid onsite work experience, putting into practice skills learned throughout the course.
Course duration: Maximum of 30 hours per week for 36 weeks
